Progress at last

This Sunday I finally had some time to work my garden patch. Boy was it every freaking hot! I walked outside and was immediately soaked. But never the less I persevered.
The above is a picture after an hour and a half of digging (and resting and chugging water and jumping in the pool). Woohoo, nicely turned soil. And good news! No grubs!

Next, I divided the plot into four and created a walkway in the middle with stones I recycled from the fireplace project. (Read: destruction of said fireplace)

Add dirt and composted cow manure. (Smelled delightfully dirt like if you must know)

And voila:
Yep, needs more dirt.

Next weekend, more dirt and some more seedlings.

The planting plan is to put corn in the two rows nearest the wall, climbing beans in one and peas in the other. Then pumpkins around.
The front 2 plots will have tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe and an assortment of herbs.

My darling husband applauded my work and took the pictures. I specifically stated no ass shots.... yeah. haha. I deleted those.
